University of Saskatchewan Distance Certificates

Master of Education: In collaboration with the College of Education and College of Graduate Studies and Research, this degree focuses on Educational Administration. These programs are offered at a number of off-campus sites throughout the province and are usually arranged through special contracts with school divisions, regional colleges, First Nations, etc.
- Certificate in Adult & Continuing Education (CACE): Benefits anyone who teaches/trains adults, coordinates/facilitates training programs and designs educational materials for adults.
- Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language (CERTESL): Certification to teach English as a Second Language (ESL) in Canada and abroad. This program was designed by award-winning distance specialists and will help you teach immigrant, overseas, Aboriginal and other learners of English as a second language. If you are currently a teacher in the K-12 system, some distance courses in TESL can be used to supplement your BEd and move you towards Class 5 on the STF salary grid.
- Special Education Certificate (SPEC): In collaboration with the College of Education's Department of Educational Psychology and Special Education, this program is for teachers who already have their B.Ed and a valid teaching certificate. This additional qualification certificate is recognized by Saskatchewan Education as meeting Special Education teacher qualification requirements and has been approved as an Additional Qualification Certificate for K-12 teachers to upgrade their classification.
- Prairie Horticulture Certificate (PHC): Study in one of four specialized streams: Landscaping and Arboriculture, Fruit & Vegetable Production, Nursery Crop Production, or Greenhouse Crop Production.
- University of Saskatchewan Master Gardener Certificate: Learn the art and science of gardening, access current information, socialize with others and share your knowledge with your community. Start anytime and take as long as you need to finish. Some courses can be taken from a distance and others are offered at HortWeek and during Spring workshops.
- Certificates in Agriculture (CAP): Choose from either Crop Production or Farm Business Management.
- Certified Crop Science Consultant (CCSC): The national standard for people who advise growers, distributors, and the public on crop protection products. Formerly the Certified Crop Protection Consultant program, this completely revised and updated program is offered in partnership with CropLife Canada.
Other Distance Courses
- Organic Weed Control (PLSC 234): An online course covers principals and practices of weed management in organic field crop production. It highlights aspects of basic weed biology and ecology that make weeds vulnerable to various control techniques.
- Online Class in French: Level: French 1 (Beginner) • Coming soon! A flexibly designed online program for people who prefer to study independently and at their own leisure. It will help you develop your vocabulary, write basic sentences, improve your pronunciation and grammar.
