Online course

  • A nationwide standard for people who advise growers, distributors and the public on crop protection products.
  • Your job might be in sales, technical support, customer service, or media relations, but if your work involves answering questions about crop protection, CCSC certification is for you.
  • CropLife Canada and industry partners support the CCSC program, including every major employer in the Canadian crop protection industry.
  • CCSC certification is more than just a good idea. It's mandatory for anyone who provides “use recommendations” or technical advice for CropLife manufacturing member companies.
  • This program is part of our industry’s commitment to continued product stewardship and education. CCSC course content is up-to-date and relevant.
  • CCSC is collaboratively offered by the University of Saskatchewan CCDE and CropLife Canada.
A New Standard of Professionalism
When it comes to ensuring the safe and effective use of crop protection products, Certified Crop Science Consultants follow industry standards, have extensive product knowledge and have acquired skills to effectively communicate with clients. From manufacturing to recycling, the CCSC certification is another component of the Industry’s commitment to stewardship first.

Initial Certification
Initial certification is completed through a 12-month online course. Three assignments and a comprehensive case study are required for initial certification. To maintain certification, you can take the continuing education program every second year.

Maintaining Certification: CCSC Continuing Education Program
To stay current with industry standards, trends and new product knowledge, you can re-certify every second year through the continuing education unit (CEU) accumulation program. Re-certification requires 40 CEUs from your choice of 12 content categories, that can be earned through online programs or workshops/events organized by individuals and companies.

Records are kept on a database system accessible only to participants to help you track your progress.

For more information on content categories, workshop criterias and how to apply for CEUs, download the CCSC-ConEd-programmanual.pdf and the CCSC-CEUStandards.pdf.
